Whether you have a single concern or several issues to explore, our unhurried consultations allow the time and space to understand your health properly and address it thoroughly.
Consultations are tailored to your individual needs and can take place in person at the clinic, by telephone or video call, or, if needed, at your home or workplace. Same-day appointments are often available.

Below is an overview of our consultation types and what they may be best suited for. If you are unsure which appointment is most appropriate, we are more than happy to advise.
We will act on results in a timely fashion, whether that is prescriptions, referrals, or further tests, so please allow enough time during your consultation for these next steps to be arranged.
Standard Consultation – 15 minutes
Up to 15 minutes of dedicated, face-to-face time with the doctor. Ideal for straightforward, single-issue concerns that can be addressed in one focused appointment.
First appointments & multiple issues – 15- 45 minutes
Up to 45 minutes face to face with the GP. This is best for first time appointments or if you have multiple issues to discuss.
First appointments, multiple issues & investigations – 60 minutes
Spend one hour face to face with a doctor focusing on multiple problems that may also require investigations such as blood tests, ECG or spirometry.
Follow up telephone consultation
A 15 minute appointment by phone to discuss investigation results.
Choosing the Right Consultation
Home Visits
At Courtyard Health Clinic, we understand that attending appointments in person is not always possible. To support our patients in these situations, we provide a home visit service that covers most of East Lothian and extends into Edinburgh.
Home visits are typically available within roughly a one-hour travel radius from our base at Eskmills in Musselburgh. This allows us to deliver the highest standard of care while ensuring timely and practical access.
The fee for a home visit varies depending on travel time and individual needs; this amount may be adjusted. All costs will be clearly communicated before you confirm your booking.
