Dr. Anurag Yadav

Dr. Anurag Yadav is an experienced and compassionate GP with a strong belief in evidence-based medicine and the power of truly listening to his patients. Guided by the saying, “The eyes cannot see what the mind does not know,” he combines knowledge, curiosity, and empathy to provide thoughtful, personalised care.

Dr. Yadav graduated in Medicine from the University of Delhi in 2003 before moving to the UK, where he completed his Foundation Training in Cardiff and Basic Surgical Training in Greater Manchester. He gained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS Edinburgh) in 2007 and later achieved Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP London) in 2011 after completing his GP training in the Scottish Borders.

He has been a GP Partner at Teviot Medical Practice in Hawick since 2014, working in a large training practice with a strong educational focus. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine, cardiovascular health, diabetes, ENT problems, and men’s health. He also performs joint injections and minor surgical procedures.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Yadav is passionate about teaching and training. He is the Lead Undergraduate Tutor at his practice and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer and Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, where he helps train the next generation of doctors. He is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP) at the University of Edinburgh.

He has presented at national and international conferences, contributed to research publications, and has represented GP interests in the Scottish Parliament and within NHS formulary groups, reflecting his commitment to service improvement and patient advocacy.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Yadav enjoys listening to soulful Indian music, whisky tasting, and gardening. He lives in the Scottish Borders with his wife and two daughters.
